GFI began as a Christ-centered counseling and training ministry over 40 years ago. Dr. Charles Solomon began ministering in Denver, Colorado following a life-transforming discovery of the the New Testament's "secret" of identification with Christ. This message is summed up in Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Since then, thousands of people on six continents have been taught the deeper message of the Cross at it relates to deliverance from chronic mental, emotional, and relational problems. Since the mid 90's the center has been based in east Tennessee.

The primary GFI conference is typically a Friday night-Saturday event hosted by a church. The participants use a 100 page notebook as the presenter walks them through the abundant life counseling essentials. Learn more at the Conference page. To get hands-on training on sharing the basics of "Spirituotherapy," GFI presents a three day workshop twice a year in Pigeon Forge, TN. This can also be hosted elsewhere with a minimun number of conference alumni. Learn more at Workshop page. This module features 15 lectures by several teachers on topics related to Christ-centered Counseling and discipleship. The School is held in Pigeon Forge in March and November.
Since 1970 hurting individuals and couples have come to the GFI center for short-term, Christ-centered Biblical counseling. Dr. Charles Solomon pioneered a model that restricts the use of observable psychology to a diagnostic role, and strategically explains and relates the deeper work of the Cross of Christ to the counslee's life.
